PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA (February 15, 2007) - MediCapture, Inc., a leading manufacturer of medical video recording solutions, announced today that it has begun shipping the much anticipated MediCap™ USB200. The new device provides an affordable and easy-to-use solution for surgeons to record digital video and still images to the industry's most flexible and compatible data storage media, USB memory.
The MediCap™ USB200 records DVD-quality video without the time-consuming and cumbersome procedures associated with medical DVD recorders. The USB200 also easily captures still images in multiple formats (JPG, TIFF, and DICOM) and allows patient information to be entered via an optional USB keyboard.
Unlike DVD recording, no finalization time is required when recording videos with the USB200. After pressing the "Stop" button, the user can start recording again or can instantly transfer the video to a local PC or network.
The USB200 can archive thousands of images and hundreds of hours of DVD-quality videos on a simple, external USB hard drive. For even greater archiving capabilities, the unit can be connected to a network, allowing unlimited storage on media servers, plus the ability to easily share, search, and retrieve libraries of video files between local and remote hospital locations, a flexibility not possible with DVD discs.
"The MediCap USB200 represents a huge advancement in medical imaging technology," commented Michael Bishop, the Company's President and CEO. "This device instantly records digital video directly to a USB flash drive or USB hard drive. It significantly decreases the time and effort required by surgical personnel while also allowing for the quick and easy transfer of video files to a PC or network; all at a fraction of the price of existing solutions."
The USB200's friendly graphical interface allows users to start recording videos as soon as they unpack the box, with no training needed. The device is compatible with virtually all makes of USB flash drives and USB hard drives.
